OT Pilot did a great job on this one

It was simply amazing to say the least........:amen:

Bravo Captain......:ernae:

Awesome job indeed!

:ernae: :applause: :ernae:

Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing... Full of fuel, right after takeoff, full passenger complement, everyone lived.....! Awesome work...

Wow! That guy has some skills!

This actually sets a new record for a controlled watering. That ethiopian 767 back then lost about three fifths of its passengers, while this incident didn't cause a single fatality.
(If you leave the difference between a river and the open sea aside.)

In the case of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 961 many of the passengers inflated their life vests before getting out of the aircraft as it broke up and went under. So they were pinned in there. If they had waited until outside they would have had a much better chance. Very sad how that happened and something to remember if you're ever in a water landing.

Yesterday's event was nothing short of a modern day miracle and outstanding piloting skills. I read also that the PIC walked up and down the aisle before leaving himself to make sure no one was left behind. Truly outstanding.

I have to agree, the pilot did an incredible job of bringing the plane in for a picture perfect water ditching. Apparently, the pilot was a 1969 graduate of Denison High School here in North Texas. Denison and Sherman Texas, 75 miles north of Dallas, are referred to as the Twin Cities. I live in Sherman and it takes about 10 minutes to drive into Denison. The local TV Station has been having a heyday with this one, interviewing anyone who even thinks they remember "Sully" from his High School days, lol.
