OT: VERY sad......

Glad to hear that this was a hoax. I admire Gunny Ermey very much. We probably ate some of the same dirt. He is the real deal, and carried that persona in his movies. Who could forget his characters in "Full Metal Jacket" and "Firebase Gloria"?

VERY glad to hear it's a hoax. I was always a big fan of Gunny, really one hell of a guy.

He's one of those people who somehow seems almost immortal to me. I can't possibly imagine him ever dying. :salute:
 
I don't know anything one way or the other, but when Bernie Mac died, this was how it went. There were reports of his death, they were called a hoax, and then it turned out that Bernie Mac did, indeed die, although it was said he died after the hoax. I don't know what to believe at all.
 
One of Gunney Ermey's TV show episodes dealt with the history of the Fokker Machine Gun.

Near the end of it, Gunney made the comment that the guns' originator's mother was a REAL "Mother Fokker"!!!!!!!!! I about fell off my recliner, choking from laughter!!!

I saw an episode of his gun show, when he went up against an Englishman with the lee-enfield .303 with his 30-06 Springfield 1903, Lee Emery lost but then pulled out a garand, the Englishman said thats not fair, to which he got the reply "It's my show Churchill" hahaha quality!
