Hello gang,
I'm trying to locate a fairly famous painting showing a B-17 or B-24 having landed after a raid on Ploesti. It's got the crew, who have just disembarked relaxing, a wounded crew member being loaded up into the ambulance, with a lovely warm sunset background. I believe there is a female medic attending the wounded airman - but I could be wrong.
I'd say it was a Robert Taylor painting, but searching for him hasn't yielded anything. I want to say the name was "crew home safe" - but I'm really on a limb.
I think I recall seeing it advertized on the back of a Warbirds magazine, or some such magazine.
Anyone know the painting, with a reasonably good high-quality image of it?
thanks,
dl
