Explorations can be one of this hobby's most rewarding aspects , while trying to identify some postwar aircraft i came across an
Outstanding Image Collection
 of some impressive designs that are worth considering for the developers , there is one especially that made me say " Lionheart "

This was an experimental heavy bomber that was designed and tested in the Soviet Union during the 1930s. The design for this aircraft was very unusual: it featured twin booms and large underwing pods that housed fixed landing gear and machine gun turrets. Even more bizarrely the passenger seats were situated inside the 7 ft 7 in thick wings. It first flew in August 1933 but experienced a crash in November the same year. This was due to structural failure of one of the tail booms. 14 people aboard were killed as well as one on the ground. Despite two more prototypes ordered the project was scrapped in 1935 before they were finished.


Yet others were just a blast to see

are pictured from what was the golden age of new military jet bombers .
 
That B-47 is such a monster. Even better with JATO. There´s a nice story related to it in the latest issue of 'Flight', if you can get hold of it.

The "Russian Experimental Bomber" pictured is from a series of CGI shots put together (IIRC) by Japanese S/F enthusiasts.
The real aircraft was nowhere as highly developed and ended up being written off.
 
The B-45 Tornado is the design i found to be the among most beautiful shapes to be developed for a bomber and it’s the one i would like to see in sim, problem is finding the time ..
there is a longish list in development , a couple in the late stages of release.

On top on my personal wish list is to revisit Sikorski's "View attachment 18355 La Grande " , i did an early freeware model of that for FS9 and always wanted to remake that with all the tools now at my disposal .

Paul has a well known thing for early aviation , and i have among designers a well know thing for Grolsch , regarding " La Grande " i found that a treat to do , all wire and cloth , exposed engines with all the valves and lifters animated and a viewing balcony out front for looking over the slowly passing terrain , there were a couple of hundred animated bits to stare at while lumbering about.

[/URL], View attachment 18365which first flew on June 25, 1928. and was able to accommodate 8-10 passengers comfortably is another one of Sikorski's planes that would be fun to recreate for FSX , it was his first profitable aircraft and was the very first download i made when i got FS9 and i have had a soft spot for Sikorski fixed wing planes ever since .

Yes, but will it be a Grolsh? This beer has a very specific taste and to be honest in can cause incredible headaches when you drink it too much!

Nice movies Chuck, definitely a lovely plane.

Now this is something straight of the "Skycaptain" movie!

I'll send a six-pack of Grolsch, Heineken or Jupiler to the person who makes a great replica with DVC for FSX!

How about that flying wing thing from the early, historic movie 'What Dreams May Come'. That thing was a MONSTER!

A battleship from the series Last Exile would also be cool.. but is a bit 'sci fi' for most...
