"Over the Coast" - Phase 3 preview movie

Hi all,
Whilst Beta testing this afternoon, I couldn't resist 'doing a Pol'. I've made a movie about several Camels taking on several Albatros DVa's over the coast near to the Camel's airfield.

It's not quite up to Pol's editing standards, but should, I hope, give you a feel for Phase 3, TrackIR cockpit views and how good the release will be.

The full movie is 123 Megs I'm afraid and can be downloaded from my host server (I hope).

Right click on the link, choose Save Target as
(or Save link as in Firefox) -

save to your desktop then play from there when downloaded.

I'm in the process of uploading it to YouTube as well, for those who'd rather not try downloading it. However its taking ages to complete the upload. I'll post here when its ready for viewing.

Excellent job bagger :ernae: It's really rather good to see the Camels giving the sausages a bit of curry what ! Nice depiction of "flamers" going straight down and other enticing DM.

Keep 'em coming. Tease the masses just a little more lol.
 
That was actually a very good an informative video sandb. It showed that outstanding cockpit of the Camel. It showed that you don't hear the EA guns but see their tracers whiz past. It showed the improved damage effects, especially the flamers. the second one was very good, showing the glow near the engine just before the flames spread along the fuselage as well as the planes going down right after catching fire. That should put to rest any questions about the flamer issues. It also showed effective AI wingmen attacking the planes with you. Teamwork Chennault would've been proud of. Very good video, many, many thanks. I also noticed th rest of th flight sitting there at idle while you started your engine. Does the flight wait for you to take off now instead of zipping out right away?

Hi Sandbagger, Excellent video, would I be correct in thinking that you are using Trackir? More like that please,one of the best I've seen.

Thanks for the comments - not too bad a movie for a 'Rank' (pun intended) amatuer.

I was using TrackIR Pro, which I think everyone agrees adds so much to the immersion element of OFF.

A bloody master pice Sandbagger I nominate you for an Oscar. I sat glued to the screen im glad im not a German with you in the sky. Dare i ask for more say Fokker DV11 in fine weather so we can see more of the excelent ground details. Thanks again
 
This is a brilliant film, Sandbagger. Thank you. And i agree with Cpirrman, it is most informative. Shows the wonderful improvements made by the team. The scenery, buildings etc are marvellous. It really looked as if you were flying over real scenarios where real people would be looking up at your exploits.
And the damage modelling was fantastic. But, best of all, the AI planes were flying purposefully throughout.

Geez, come on guys, I can't wait for this sim to come out.- Well, actually, I can, just a little, 'cos it'll be a couple of weeks before i order the new 'puter, and then there'll be a short while before it comes.. Oh, exciting times..!

Were you using TrackIR? Looked like you were. If so, you've answered my question in another thread...whether it was possible to peer forward and down using TrackIR.

Really looks like P3 is going to be an amazing experience.
