B24guy's Overhauled Corsair

Hi again everyone,

In my quest to do a fresh install, I was updating the stock a/c with B24guys overhauled planes. So far I'm unable to locate the OH Corsair and while I'm at it, did he ever do the stock B-24?

Thanks again for your help.

Corrections Cherfully Welcomed

I can find no archived files here or on my home server for either animal.

I DID find a captured / repainted version of a Corsair, done up in Japanese regalia... complete plane AND de-mirrored.

If you want it for a 'coloring book project', fire me off a PM with your email and I'll send it to you....

UPDATE: From what I found after mucking about on the WWW, DBolt's Corsairs are considered the epitome of AI to Flyable conversions. Plenty of paintjobs to be had as well, and they're here:

Hi guys,

Thanks for the input. I'll have to check out Dbolt's Corsair. I do have ALL the FDG2 a/c, I'll have to go back and check framerates.

Kind regards,

TW

Boeing,

Thank you very much for your hard work on this, and also thank you to The B24 Guy! :salute:

Stefano,

My reply was from SEP 2011, B24 Guy's overhauled B24D is from 2012 ....:173go1:

Also, can BvA clarify & confirm something - the B24 guy's OH F4U-1A Corsair IS different to Dbolt's de-mirrored stock F4U-1A Corsair, & does that mean that repaint bitmaps for Dbolt's won't necessarily be named correctly to fit B24 Guy's Overhaul:isadizzy:

UT, yeh they work with your paints too!!! LOL

Thank you Boeing for uploading the file. Thank you all for adding the notes that show the texture file to work with both models.

I spent a couple of hours last night trying to find the OH file on my PC and online without success.

Now it's all but a bad dream... Sorted.

Many thanks again all,

Graham.

The sound folder is missing in the .zip file. No big deal as it is easily fixed, although a new CFS 2er might fight it an issue.

OHs don't have sound as you are to copy and paste the files into the stock aircraft folder and over ride the old files.

One more

Thanks Kelty, I'll check them out.

You're welcome Capt. Kurt,

yesterday I could not find this other CobraUk's masterpiece too, because there's no thumbnail to show it:

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=57&id=839

In the library, sorted by ascending date, it's posted at page 13, right above VF-17 top ace Ira Kepford repaint. It depicts the faded, war-weary F4U1-A, VMF-214 #883 , BuNo. 17883, flown by both Maj. Greg 'Pappy' Boyington and Lt. Bob McLurg. This is the "real" Boyngton mount, not #86 "Lulubelle" as most people think because of the famous Boyngton's picture taken for propaganda purposes.
Boyngton clearly wrote that no-one in VMF-214 painted personal insignias on their Hogs, to keep Japanese fighter pilots from singling them out. 'Pappy' always flew the dirtiest, worst looking, battered Corsair in the squadron to avoid becoming a preferred target, as he would have been instead flying "Lulubelle" in combat.

I believe the skin Dbolt's overhauled stock F4U1-A came with, depicting VF-17 #1 "Big Hog", flown by the "Jolly Rogers" skipper Cdr. Tommy Blackburn, was done by CobraUK as well.

Cheers!
