P-40N "Snafu" WIP

Here's a preview of the repaint that I'm currently working on. I wanted to do a camouflaged example so trawled the Internet until this one caught my eye. It's a P-40N of the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army Air Force based in New Guinea in 1945. Purists will quickly realise that the paint is not 100% accurate but is my interpretation of how a 'restored' P-40N might look today if painted to represent that aircraft. It might not be to everyone's taste but I like the look of it and have certainly enjoyed doing it. Should be ready to upload in a couple of days once I've applied a few finishing touches :icon_lol:

Hope you like her.

Taff.

Hi Jan Kees,

You're right, but when I first started looking several colour profiles I happened upon (particularly one copyrighted by Tex Hill - Aviation Ancienne) showed a distinct camouflage pattern. I have since discovered that the actual aircraft did not have camouflage pattern applied. As I had started painting camouflage I decided to continue. As I said in my post, some purists will not like this but, I like it. You never know, I may produce an un-patterned version in the future ;-)

Regards,

Taff
