42-8544, a P-47D-5 as she looked when she rolled out of the factory. The number on the nose was applied for the ferry flight via Iceland to the combat units in England. This aircraft later flew with the 357thFS/355th FG as OS-R "Moon", the personal aircraft of Lt.Col John L. "Moon" Elder. Repaint for the Shockwave P-47D by Jan Kees Blom.
