P3 Arrived-Now To Finish My New Build!

My copy of P3 arrived today and I loaded it onto my C2D system just to get a glimpse...WOW! It looks awesome, unfortunately my new system is still being rebuilt. I should be able to really have fun sometime next week.
I am going all out on this build, H20 cooling, re-painting all the internals and sleeving every cable. I always build my own systems and this one is madness!

I will be posting extensive updates this weekend and hopefully flying by mid-week! I am really looking forward to flying in 25X16 on the 30" with Track IR.

Damn!!!! Now THAT is what I'd call a serious rig!!!!!!!!

Btw.....Xtremesystems is where I went lookin' for info on how to OC my Maximus with this 6850. The info I picked up there was invaluable. Strength of the forum is the hardware-specific info. This kind of motherboard with that cpu and cooling, this kind of RAM and which specific BIOS version you wanna' flash to for the best running start at a good overclock.....;)

Can't wait to hear what kind of performance you get in the current offering (did I say "current"??) of this marvelous WW1 flight sim.


Please let us know how far you manage to push that i7 without wondering if something's gonna' pop.


(No hacked BIOS info here please) but I am running a Rage BIOS on this Maximus board...and it still didn't get me to 4 Gig on air.......lol.

I was running this system for about 1.5 months on low-flow H20 and it smoked. I was up to 4.6 stable until I had a loop problem and decided to go for a big makeover. OFF2 was incredible, especially with the 30" and 25x16 resolution.
I know of two people on XS that are stable with a 920 on air but you will need excellent ventilation and a lot of fans. The 965 hits 4.4 with little help especially with the R2E MB. My BIOS is the latest from ASUS and I can tell you that the WD 3's in RAID 0 smoke to say the least.
I am looking forward to finishing this build and to get back in the cockpit!
