P3d 2.5 black screen after win 10 upgrade

I just upgraded to windows 10 and thought everything went well. P3d gets to the scenario screen fine, but once the flight loads, I get a black screen and then a CTD.

Any known easy fixes for this, or is just a "win10 upgrade sucks" issue?

Luckily I created a system image and can revert if I need to. But, since I'm not reformatting and reinstalling ALL of my stuff any time soon, that also means I'll be passing on win10 for quite a while.

Can you see any error messages in Windows Event Viewer?

Apart from the CTD, I have noticed when my flight loads in P3D V3, it has a black screen on first loading and it takes a while for the picture to start appearing. It's like the graphics are built up piece by piece. I don't think mine has a problem , but it could just be this causing the black screen on yours. Obviously the CTD is the more serious issue. I would try to find the culprit file in event viewer, and also try running P3D in Windows 7 compatibility mode just to see if that makes a difference.

I have so far stayed away from Windows 10 as I just can't see all the software I have playing nice with it.

Cheers,

After the upgrade, the video driver update should be done I guess, together with a computer reboot.
Also the P3D shaders shoud be deleted so that P3D can rebuild them on the next startup.

Thanks for the tips. I had deleted the shader folder already and that didn't work. I updated the video driver this morning and still got the black screen.

I don't have time for this. Win 10 looked cool (and the start menu was back!), but I'm going to use my recovery image to just go back to my Win8 install that was working just fine.
