P3D 3.4 is out !

Should have known, Pete Dowson's on holiday again! (but only until tomorrow)
I'll wait until the usual suspects are updated though.

They have added a lot of stuff aimed at the "military" usage of the sim, obviously.
The enhanced support for VR headsets is also a nice thing.
However, this updates contains (almost) nothing regarding performance improvements, and that's a shame.
I wish LM would fix that damned graphic engine, instead of adding new features...

They say that you can time a Prepar3D release to when Pete is on holiday. :D

Just checked Instant Scenery 3 forum and they are aware thanks to someone posting the P3D v3.4 update announcement . They were pretty quick getting the last IS3 update up .

Thanks for the head up. There's a huge load of bug fixes and new functions, as I see. The Avatar / weapons functions seems only to apply to the Professional Plus version.
I'll give it a try tonight!

Cheers,
Mark

Just got back online after the move.

P3D 3.4.9.18400

I chose to do the clean install with this update. No issues, in fact now that I've structured my storage more efficiently, the updates are much more efficient.

Not much seat time yet, but I seem to have picked up some performance. I'm running the current NVIDIA driver and the usual WFO settings in P3D. These shots are Jan and Manfred's C-47, utilizing my 4096 texture sets, over heavy hitter scenery and utilizing some pretty demanding weather. DR is turned off for this skin and scenario.

Also...no issues with the JV/MJ DAK so far in 3.4.9.18400.

Solid 60+ FPS outside and 58-60 in the office...up a few frames from previous P3D while running the same scenario/conditions. No stress on the card either.

Installation problem on windows server 2008 r2
I read somewhere .....

The reason is quite simple: Lockheed Martin and Microsoft are working closely on the compatibility of their software and have an agreement on this, totally in line with the new Microsoft support guidelines:

Support for Microsoft OS’s nowadays ends after two new versions, meaning that Server 2008R2 support is over now.
So .... go over to Windows Server 2016 to enjoy continued support for a couple of years. (usually two years now on the server side)
