P3D_V4 config question

Ed, this is not FSX, the general consensus (on AVSIM) is: Do not mess with it in P3Dv4, the default value is TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=30

cheers, Henk.

Got me on a bad day Henk. . .I realize this isn't FSX, I asked because I have come across information that suggested this was a legit tweak for P3D so I felt that asking the question would settle it once and for all. Thanks, I won't mess with it.

In P3Dv4 the tweaking is not necessary indeed.
But nothing prevents you from trying it.
If you play with that value and that one alone, then it's quite easy to cancel your changes without having to delete the Prepar3D.cfg ;)

From my side, I haven't even tried to modify that value.
Back in my FSX days, I had to adjust it a bit to prevent artifacts and such... but I'm not getting any of these problems in P3D so I have never felt the need to modify these values.
The only value I have modified in my Prepar3D.cfg is the TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP that I pushed to 9, to increase the distance for crisp ground textures.
People with serious video cards and CPUs usually push that to 10 (memory consumption is kind of exponential, so I don't think anybody can use 11 at all), but that would be too much for my GTX970 and my old i7. The value 9 is perfect for me.
