P3Dv4 C-130

Hi guys. I think I may the be last person to "discover" flying the C-130 in P3Dv4. Im mostly a GA or fast jet flyer. In any case, I noted rather immediately that the default C-130J skins have a flaw in that the wing tanks have the wrong skins on them...has anybody done a fix for this? Also, I would "think" there would be like a million repaints for the C-130. Surprisingly I cant really find many. Where to look? I searched and didnt find any here.

lastly, is this the Captain sim C-130?
 
Yes, the P3Dv4 C-130 is the Captain Sim model. I have grafted the old FSX version repaints in just fine.
 
The flaw in the C-130 wing tank code is suppose to be fixed in the next P3D v4 update. That is what has been said in a previous thread regarding the problem. Looking forward to the fix.

Is there a way to not display the tanks? In the selection window of the sim you can see the airplane without wing tanks. But when it loads they are there. is it possible to just toggle them off? I'd be fine with that.
 
Wish there was a way to get rid of them. If anyone has this figured out please let us know. I would also like to get rid of the tanks.
 
Ive done it using mcx, it was very detracting indeed

i can upload the external mdls without tanks if you want

You will have to remind me which models as ive ported the whole c130 package over and i cant remember which ones are the LM versions

I just dumped the LM models and rep replaced them with the CS ones.
Saying that, I'm pretty sure I did read on the LM forums how to hide the tanks.

Think that's what I did. Along with my fave paints made for the CS plane. Just like porting and merging any other native FSX models with VC's/gauges you know will work in 64 bit.
 
Removing tanks with editing aircraft.cfg. Double slash // the entries in [fuel] section.

//External1= -0.75, -25.49, -7.03, 1400.00, 10 // EXT Left
//External2= -0.75, 25.49, -7.03, 1400.00, 10 // Ext Right

For those that have it in, anyone do the just the C-130 install? I have v4.2 still and only wanted to get the Herc working.

One thing I have noticed at least in this build of P3Dv4... is that the night lighitng sucks. Im not happy really with any airplane, but this C-130 has very white lights at night. Would love to be able to tone this down and have some proper red/yellow night lighting or even NVG green!

Does anybody know what is latest version of Captian Sims C-130 X-perience All-in-One Pack [FSX], please? Mine is csp131_1300 If this version is outdated, where in Captain Sim site can I find updates or update fixes or bug fixes, please?
