Paint programs

While I can,t build missions yet,I can do some repaints but have a small problem. I can`t get Pixia or Gimp to work with the DXTBmp program.I had no problems with Pixia when I was running win 98se but now I can`t get the DXTBmp to open in any of thies programs, it only wants to open in MS Paint which is the worst paint program on the planet.Fellows any ideas? I priced paint shop pro at $500 US so that is out.

Have you tried asking Martin at MW Graphics ? He normally gets back within a day or so.
You may just need his latest DLL ?

I have had problems in the past with GIMP and DXTBmp where DXTBmp wouldn't save images that were modified in GIMP. No such issue with Paint.net.

Give it a try, it is free and relatively easy to use.

Mspaint is the default paint program for DXTbmp by design. That's why it automatically opens MSP when you move to send your texture to paint editor. To choose another program, click the big square button on the right below the alpha window and mipmaps area. This opens a Select Program dialog box which allows you to search your hard drive for the location of the new paint program's *.exe file, such as "gimp-2.6.exe". I don't know about your setup, but on my computer the path for gimp-2.6.exe is C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\bin\gimp-2.6.exe.

I second Paint.net, use it all the time for my painting and you can get plug ins to handle PSD's and many more effects and painting tools and the price is perfect
