PaintKit for Carenado C 337 FSX

I am looking for a paint kit for the Carenado C 337 Skymaster. I am interested in making a repaint.

I am under the impression that one comes with it and if so where can I find it.

I purchased this from PCAviator web site.

Included in the package:

  • 5 HD paint schemes.
  • 1 HD Blank texture. <<<< Is this the paint kit?
  • 2 models (one pilot and two pilots).
  • Normal and Emergency Procedures - Performance tables PDF.
  • Quick reference table PDF.
  • Operations Tips and Reality XP Integration PDF.
  • Carenado GNS530 Users Guide PDF.
  • Recommended Settings PD

I am assuming that using DXTBMP, I open the bmp files in the blank texture and then export to say... Paint.net and make my repaints.
 
The blank textures are their paint kit.

The texture experts here and other sites know how to turn it into layers.
I haven't a clue. I can't draw a line with a straight edge.

Yes, you use the white texture.
You need a paint program that supports layers (I use photoshop), you open the white texture, and make a copy of the white texture layer above the first one, which you then set to multiply.
If you put your paint between these layers, things will come out perfect. Check any of my paints for Carenado or Alabeo aircraft for the end result of this method.

Thanks Jan for the info.

I use Paint.net and it has the photoshop addon so it performs just like photoshop. I may ask you some questions later when I get ready to make my first airplane repaint.
I have some limited experience using paint.net when I made that Jeep - remember? :icon_lol:

I was not sure what Carenado was using for a paint kit because I didn't see any familiar PSD files like the other DEVs provide.

good luck, the skymaster is a bit challenging to paint, especially the fuselage, because there are bits and pieces all over the place. I just hope your paintscheme is not too complicated.

Well, I wanted to do this one as I have not seen it anywhere, yet. Y'all try and act surprised if I should complete this one.

Odd when I click on it goes right to it. Probably something I did when posting the link.
Not too hard to find go to OZx search paints/emergency/armed forces/8th page about halfway down.
