• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Patch Dll Error

After some months absence, I started up CFS3 and got an error message shortly after the title screen started
that reads:

Patch Dll Error: Game terminated prematurely

PatchMemorySync: Done: TerminateProcess() failed (5)

I have tried searching the net and there are only a few references to this message with no definite solutions, several of which are from people who have given up in the end and just don't run CFS3 any more.

I am beginning to suspect Microsoft updates or security updates. Before I start trawling through these, I wondered if anyone else had ever had this problem and had found a solution.

I'm on Win7 64bit, so don't know about vista, sorry.

Did you try to run CFS3config before running CFS3 itself?
 
Yes I have tried the config. I think I'll have to try a series delete of Microsoft updates after Christmas and see if the problem lies there.
