I do hope OFF is not over shadowed by Rise of Flight it seems PC Pilot magazine has an artical on it http://www.pcpilot.net/ and OFF is closer to release than ROF (well I hope so) will PC Pilot be given a copy to review I do hope so then it will be the second time I will purchase the magazine the last time was July/August 2006 Number 41 when they reviewed OFF P2, if they did not consentrate so much on FSX & FS9 I may purchse it more often (im one of them that browes the mags in W H Smiths)

I dont think that ROF will be even 1% as good as OFF.

I mean look at the features of OFF! And in ROF you can only fly with yankees or germans? Where are the frogs and the brits?

I believe that the OFF team must send a copy of the game to plenty of sites/magazines for review.
Gamespot for instance is a web site that reviews PC games and it is great. You should send a copy to these guys. They are gonna get awed and the sales of OFF will be increased :ernae:

I think we are. Right now we are just testing out the delivery quality of the publisher we chose, which so far is good. They had some technical difficulties earlier this week, but sorted it out.

I do agree though, I'd like to see our game in the hands of a few high-end Game magazines and let the reviews flow.

I second this. Pc Pilot is one of those British magazines that does really well in what they cover. It is a pleasure to read it- but if the content is not what you really want it is hard to justify a subscription. They do concentrate, for my wants, too much on FSX/FS9.
If they gave as much cover to combat sims then i think their circulation would vastly improve.
Having said that, i think it would certainly help the British sales of OFF if the magazine reviewed it.

ROF tech requirements look big. Looks like OFF3 will be the one to have!:ernae:

Guys, also keep in mind that ROF has an office, and workspace together, and is more-or-less a real company.

We're a virtual company that have only met each other on vacations. ;) We make choices on plans based on good ideas, and what's best for the team. And we have fun doing it. We're very serious, but in the same breath, we're a bunch of guys having fun too.

It would be a very interesting article if someone actually took the time to research how we all came together and made OFF into a reality.

I know Gremlin is putting somthing together on Wings of Honor, so it should be fun. But it would be cool to see it in a real mag. I think WM and Pol have made contacts with some mags, but I don't know which ones.

Better to let them answer that. We were never in it for the cash, fame or anything else... but why not have some fun and you can get to know us better as well. :)

You could bill yourself as the First succesful WIKI company, cutting edge wave of the future and all that you know? Goes over big in the "lets throw around modern techno slang cause it sounds good in magazine articles" community. But in truth.....you essentially really are. Not so much Wiki, as Virtual though. Still.....quite cutting edge.

ZZ.

Hmmm - Don't see how their tech requirements are big. They have only a few ( 4?) flyable planes - You can buy more later, they say.
Oh, and I believe now they have a mission editor.

Because, i think, it is a sim aimed mainly at online play. And if it is, how much emphasis will be on AI?

Now compare that to Phase 3 - it's a no brainer.

But no doubt, I shall buy both. :)

Please, Please, Please, refrain from using ethnic slurs, children may see it, on this forum.

I remember one time, I said FROG, on Oso's Outhouse ( quite liberal to be sure ) and I came close to being banned, and that's hard there :kilroy:

well it is certainly disrespectful and uncalled for. like a lot of the crap showing up here as of late.
PD

Dindnt know that the term "frog" is so innapropriate :isadizzy:.

To the OFF team

You should definitely send copies to the gamer mags, and if you shouldn't have German adresses, I could find them out. Or you just google these names to get to their websites: PC-GAMES and PC-ACTION. There are more; I'll have to look in the mag store.
Cheers; Olham

PS: hey, Gousgounis; for me it's okay if you call us Germans "huns", as long as we're joking. May be some are more touch sensitive...

PPS: here's the adress (both mags have the same; belong together). That may be only the adress for their website concern, but you could shure write something, to get it delivered to the right people.

There's another magazine called 'Computer Pilot' from Australia I think, not bad at all . Again this mag. is mostly aimed at FS9 and FSX.
Don't you find this infernal 'polital correctness' rubbish more than a little tedious? Since when has referring to Americans as 'Yankees' been derogatory? or calling Germans'Germans' ? The mans only pointing the limitations of Rise of Flight. Nothing in that to get silly about.

The mood in the forum sure has changed these last few days...maybe we want to play P3 to chill outtt at last :costumes:

I get PC Pilot and the issue which came out today had a five page discussion with the producer, Albert Zhiltsov. Having inteviewed the guy, it is not difficult to reckon that in due course, PC Pilot will carry a review of the program, RISE OF FLIGHT, when it hits the streets. All the names mentioned with regard to the development seem to be Russian or something close to it.
I would be appalled if the same mag don't also do a review of OFF3 when it comes out. They would have time, I'm thinking to get a decent review in time for the next publication due out in mid-February. It's a well produced mag, certainly in my opinion, probably a bit above Computer Pilot. PC Pilot did a preview of Black Shark four months back in quite glowing terms so they're obviously not restricted to non-combat programs. If they don't tackle OFF3 then I for one will be a bit suspicious. They're bound to know about OFF and its new allsingingalldancing presentation so I'm sure it will write it up handsomely. Whether they can write it up and resist the temptation to make comparisons with RISE OF FLIGHT remains to be seen.

I really don't think that being antsy to play BHAH is the problem. I think it's the holidays. It is a very joyous and happy time of year but it is also one of the most stressful times of the year, not to mention the world situation, such as it is. Just everyone calm down, grab a :ernae: , or whatever mind expanding substances you prefer, and let's all act like gentlemen (and ladies).
Maybe "head to head" dogfights would be a good idea. If you disagree, settle it on the field of battle, one on one. Winner takes all.

As the only real games in town, they are bound to be compared but, moreover, as someone who's been flying OFF since that happy Christmas so many years ago (and eagerly awaits P3), OFF will be compared to every WWI sim to be released for at least the next decade.

Well ,I am happy to know the man who is going to review Phase 3 for a very well known flight simulator website. He is not only a highly qualified aircraft engineer, but also a very enthusiastic fan of all kinds of computer flight simulators. I don't think BHAH could be reviewed by anyone one better and I am sure he will give it a thorough and fair assessment. I told him about OFF2 a few months ago and when the opportunity came he wanted to review Phase 3.
