Ha!! I stayed up til 3:00am watching that. My dad's side of the fambly was authentic oakies. Came up to Spokane to work on Coulee Dam. Turned their corner at the dam site. Never rich but did gain respectability and money enough to consider themselves reasonably well off. :medals:

Interesting set of photos. I grew up in Eastern Colorado. Except for the sand drifts the trees and older farms still look like that. My cousin works with the BLM in Clayton, NM (Image 17). I didn't notice if she or the office got credit in the PBS film but they worked with the film crews when they were in that area. After visiting them back in 2009 I drove over to Dalhart, Texas (Image 14) about 30 miles away. Then up through the panhandle and into Colorado. Thankfully 70 years have repaired the land.

Nowadays I run into big sand storms out near the Salton Sea. Goggles help a lot but it still takes days to get it all out of your ears.
