Pictures with uploads = Why?

I been reuploading the repaints I've done. Each being different reg#'s and colors by a long shot. Here's what I sent for thumbnails.

I know I did it correctly.

Here's how they're listed.

Ole Boy, I think your pics have a size of about 300x200px each.
To display correctly, they ought to have 300x225, otherwise they become squeezed...
 
I understand that. But the sizes that were uploaded are the same ones posted above. All within guideline.

And (off topic) even at that size, it appears they get resized again....from 300px × 194px -->(scaled to 125px × 94px) So the best size to upload to avoid any resizing appears to be 125x100

True. But what's the point of uploading a thumbnail if it's not going to be displayed as depicted to what's inside the file?

In the list view, yes the pix are scaled down to 125x94 pixels. BUT, when you click on the individual listing for an entry the pic displayed is 300x225, so 300x225 is the right size to use.
In the small view, the 300x225 size is sized down to 125x94 which is a /2.4 ratio reduction in both dimensions.

Now as for the thumbnails not matching the repaints...I'm not positive on the cause why only two shots were used for all of your uploads. Hopefully Douglas can get em straightened out for ya.
I see only two images used in all those repaints. One is SOHsize.jpg and the other is SOHresize.jpeg as opposed to the original names you have in your first post here. Those two filenames must've been your doing? The file library database doesn't rename the files on scaling them...all of the SOH_donationware uploads I did use odd size jpgs and they still have the original filename even though they were scaled.

I try to make the filename of my preview pic the same filename as the ZIP I'm uploading. It's not a requirement, but it does makes things a little easier on my own computer before uploading and they're easier to sort when viewing the file on the FTP too.

As for the images that were uploaded with the files, all were originally named SOHsize.

When I uploaded the above images together, I renamed them that way because I moved them all into one folder (dupe file names) before upload to imageshack.


And, I like the Preview pic name being the same as the file name. Makes perfect sense. (mental note taken) :ernae:
