It's certainly worth checking anything you've flown as a simulation, though you can usually tell pretty quickly how realistic fs aircraft are, depending on how much trouble has gone into making them. Nice to read a report on flying a real DH86 Rapide there.
Many, many years ago I did fly in Chippies, so was particularly interested in the Chipmunk report. He had some trouble taxying, though of course we Air Cadets NEVER got to try that for ourselves! I was thrilled to see that that guy got one for only about $18,000 - still in RAF raspberry ripple livery - but then realised that the article was dated 1978 - exactly 3 decades ago when I was in them! Hope they never repainted it in any different scheme. (But I'm sure you'll all agree that Rick Piper's fs9/FSX one is superb.)
