Pimax audio

Flight Sim Junkie
Hi Guys,

Got my crystal light and dmas speakers and can't get a peep out of them. I'm reading that you have to select 7.1 audio for the Pimax audio but all that's available to me is stereo. Anyone have any ideas? Also reading it may be a licensing issue with DTS.

Thanks,

Hi guys,

I'm in the process of returning the unit. I really wanted to like this but there are just too many bugs. I tried to get MSFS to run several times despite there being no sound and there are also just too many other issues, and the sim crashed each time I tried. I also had to "tell' the headset every time that I was sitting as it placed me outside the safety zone and wouldn't run. I don't know how I see so many people online supposedly having a great time with it. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone in the state it's in at this time.

All right, I wouldn't be doing anyone a favor if I didn't follow up. I have to eat crow on this one. Got everything working and am really liking it now. So, if I had to log a complaint now, it's that there are so many options in the Pimax software and not much explanation on how to set everything up. My main problem was that I found the default resolution set to two times the native resolution of my Crystal and my system just couldn't deal with that (maybe when I get my 6090 someday) and everything else was going whacky. Once I turned that down, things started to straighten out and my sound started working. I even finally got to use Dolby Atmos which wasn't allowed in WMR and things sound great. I turned up the local dimming and the blacks are awesome now. I finally got to fly at night and could see outside and the stars looked like stars. So it sounds like there is some bad information out on the interweb about needing to set the audio to 7.1.
