Pitcairn Mailwing from Golden Age...coming soon (Beta)

she is a beauty - and so is the airfield scenery for Pitcairn Field

one pic is from 7WA3 WestWind - but the rest are from the included airfield

another Great Bi-Plane from Golden Age Simulations !

Only just installed my beta version and the airstrip. Love the look of the airstrip and will see if this 'final?' beta is as good or not better than the Alphas were.

Lovely stuff from the team!

These models are nicely detailed, sound great, and as always - they have virtually zero impact on FPS

@ Paul - so far I have not seen any issues - I like the way you presented the manual too, using the original mfg pages and then adding your FSX guide in the same format and style as one document

Scenery is very good also - with the vintage cars, the hangar, and airfield surrounds - again without impact to frame rates.

I am still going through the aircraft looking for missing textures, gaps, faulty gauges etc...so far no such issues exist.

approach speeds, take off, and cruise all align with the handbook -

its a Terrific pack and I know it will be popular with the low and slow / Bi-Planers in the community.

I am currently using DX10 mode with Steve Parsons Fixer so if you are a DX10'er you will have no problems - shadows inside and out look great.
Note: since changing my Affinity Mask setting to =7 (instead of =14) I have noticed a STARK improvement in FSX smoothness !
I run a quad cor I5 3.4G proc. with a GForce GTX670 GPU FWIW

Thanks guys for the testing and if all proceeds without any untoward issues coming up, we'll do as we've done before and do a discounted pre-release to the community next weekend

Properly trimmed this aircraft flies beautifully hands off. My next flight I will try to push the envelope more than I have so far.

Paul this aircraft is as docile as a lamb. And the shadowing effects in P3D V2.2 are magnificent.

Paul this is a great flyer.

the attached is positioned at IL57, free scenery from Alabeo http://www.alabeo.com/pages/Cottonwood.php
because its where I fly all my Bipes....and 'dusters.

not to take anything away from the scenery included with your models - all of those are great too...
I just like this airfield especially for some unquantifiable reason

Thanks from me too Heywooood, I wasn't aware of this freeware airfield from Alabeo.

Thanks from me also. One that I missed. Some of the tests I did could not meet the specs that were printed in the actual Pitcairn handbook. Have shown these in an email to Paul which should have gone as a CC to all other testers as well.

one thing about performance tables is that they seldom list the onboard fuel weight during the flight test of the r/l aircraft...
full fuel tanks for optimum range is always going to be a performance hit against the airframe and power plant vs optimum performance fuel weight. The P-51 Mustang being a prime example

I usually test with 50% fuel in all tanks to keep the c/g in balance

@ Roger and AussieMan - You're welcome for the Cottonwood link...like I say - its a personal favorite for me
