Plane stability

Hi Guys, quick opinion from u guys on plane stability....

I find the Camel(oddly) to be the most stable plane in level flight, i.e. it requires no trim or forward stick pressure to stay in level flight, same for the Triplanes...

However I find the SE5 & Fokker DVII for example require constant forward stick pressure i.e. they both appear to have a tendency to wanna nose up whilst in flight. Anyone else observe this?

I dont like the idea of trimming since it wasn't used in WW1 much till very late war.

All settings on realistic..

Trimming isn't necessarily unrealistic, if you only set it for one flight regime, say cruise. IRL, you could have your riggers set up your plane for that particular attitude as well as devise some type of arrangement like springs, etc. This was done, but to continue realism, you can't change it in flight once it's set.

Yep understood. Just find it weird how the SE5 & Fokker DVII always seem to nose up when i'm flying around in them, always fighting to keep nose down. Yet with the triplanes n the camel i dont experience it. Just wondering if i'm the only one experiencing it....

In R/L pilots would take-off, fly 20 minutes, then land giving his mechanic instructions. He might do this 5 times. I see nothing wrong with trimming while you're on the ground . . . .they did. But once you're up . . that's cheating :kilroy:

Different sim devs have different ideas about how things were.
