Hello, newbie here:wave:, I have sayed off the forum digesting the info from the experienced members. :applause:

I installed the 1.2 patch yesterday and every mission that I've flown since then (campaign or quick combat) I have been rammed by someone, either the enemy or my own flight mates. This never happen to me before I installed the new Patch...are others experiencing this also?:help:

thanks so much
Dave

Welcome Dave. Maybe just bad luck? No it's not a known issue, so something is wrong. Maybe more details.. squad craft etc? Warp? How do you collide?

Do you have a non English OS ?

Thanks for the "warp" reply! The following are some details. I bought the game right after the release and have been playing it since, no problems or issues with the game. In the month I've been "flying' I have never been rammed By another plane. The only time I was in a colision was when I got target fixation and rammed into my target in my early play.

With the 1.20 patch I have gone on 4 missions and been rammed in every one of them. Once, on takeoff my flight mate came over from my left and hit me on takeoff. My second misson, flying for Jasta 2 in 1918 with a DR1, 2 others in my flight ( I was not the flight leader) no warp, just flying toward mission, my flight member moved moved over and hit me in the left side, I died. So I changed pilots and went back to Jasta 2, 1918, flying a DVII, I'm at the outside and high in a furball, just shot down a Camel and am firing at another when I'm rammed in the left side again, I died.

Went to quick combat, 56 Squadron 1917 flying Se5a, in a furball with Albatros DIIIs, shot one down and going after another, again at the outside of the fight at higher altitude, not sure who rammed me, again seemed to be from the left side.

Everything else in the patch seems to be working very well, I actually got credit for some kills!!! :engel016:

I have English OP. Running XP with Nvidia 7600, 2gb of ram and 500HD

Hope this helps, keep up the good work :applause:

Hi, Dave
I had a collision yesterday, but after calming down, I thought:
well, not only did he fly into my crate - I also flew in his.

The AI is much more active after the patch, they really perform dogfighting now!
In a furball of maybe 8 - 16 planes within a rather small space, these things happened a lot - even to experienced pilots and aces.
Situational awareness and more or less complete overview can only be gained by leaving the furball and climb - if you can.

So, I hope for you, that it's "only" this - and not a problem due to the patch.

If you're not running an English setup/system, I recommend to set "Regional Language Settings" to "English (USA)".
That helped me with campaign dates and altitude measurements etc. Might be worth a try.

PS: hey, JIMKO, just read that - this had once been a space, were you had posted (before the great crash). Cheers, man!

Mid air collisions were very real danger and in formation flying now you have to watch all round you. If you have TrackIR it will help a lot to avoid things.

Sounds like you have just been unlucky but many craft maybe flying around you. So watch around more, and as Oldham54 says they may be more lively now.

I had a head on with an SE5a yesterday!...it was like the final scene in Aces High...was looking over my shoulder, admiring my latest victim's flamer, and turned around just in time to get a faceful of prop!

Nearly jumped outta my blooming chair!!

I had one with a DH2 playing in Windows 7, just now.

I certainly can't attribute it to the game, however.

I just stuck with a head-on shot too long, and that darn Albatros wasn't nimble enough to escape the crash.

My pilot was damaged (permanently). :faint:

If you haven't had some collisions you haven't been flying. You are in the club! Drink up, and cheers.

Collision on level flight

I'm no expert but you might want to check and see in the off manager whether you have formation flying set to tight or normal spacing. It could give you some breathing room. Otherwise, just stay heads up.

Thanks guys, guess I'll have to look around a little more.

Dave
