Our hosting company was purchased by Rackspace last year. They are closing the data center that houses our servers and moving the servers to another location 15 miles way.


The move date is September 22, 2018 0:00 to 08:00 Central Time.


There will be significant downtime on both servers at the same time.

Once September 22 arrives, this explains why SOH will be unreachable. Please keep in mind that these are all planned dates and times and in the real work things can take (much) more time than expected.

It's a basic law of nature. Everything is harder than it looks and everything takes longer than you expect.

The announcement is about moving and not about replacing or refurbishing. So I guess we will keep the old one. Most probably our neighbours complained about the smell.........................

And a certain Mister Murphy wrote a law on this as well :biggrin-new: Let's try to remain positive. The IT company told us they have a lot of experience. Which means they know about a couple of things which can go wrong :biggrin-new:

The move has been postponed until the 14th of October! I'm an optimist so I'm confident it will be a smooth job :encouragement:
