• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

This is what we had yesterday >> Total members that have visited the forum in the last 24 hours: 1,114 << If you start checking everyday this is about the round about member each day. We still need 1530.00 to finish the update and get both of the servers up and going. The newest part of the site will be on line flying, at no charge. Most other sites don't offer this and we are still doing it for free. Ickie has been generous and gave all the payware planes out at NC to the members. We got two more weeks to get this done. I know some in here are unemployed and have finical problem, which we all have been their at some time of out life, I fully understand that. But 95% of the members should be able to afford five bucks. Thank goodness we still have members that fork out 50 to a 100.00 to pay for all the non payers. But is it really fair. I can't stand to ask for money from our members, but I am asking for your help one more time. Ickie and I were talking the other day and I said we should either start charging for membership or the on line flying for non-paying members and guest. He was a hundred percent against this and said SOH has never charged to come in here or for membership. Come on guys...let close this and get it over with...thanks for your support, Mike
 
I am unemployed, for some time now..I shall be sending money to SOH..For many years this site has been a Blessing to me..
I shall be Pleased and Grateful to SOH to be able to do this..
I do urge ALL who can Please help out..

Hey guys, I am not asking for anybody to go bankrupt here but like I said before, if every member forked over five bucks we would have already been there last month. Ickie should never have to use his money to run this site, he is already putting in countless hours seven days a week at no charge. If it wasn't for some of the members paying extra and going the extra mile, I don't know what we would do.

Could not have said it better Moe, and wish I could have given more than I have already (my daughter is getting married in 2 weeks so my wallet is now used to hold pictures of my kids where the money used to be...lol). Seriously begging for funds is never a fun task but this forum and the new site are worth everyone's support and at this point I would add "Size doesn't matter" let's get a few bucks from as many as can chip in and we will exceed our goals (NEEDS really).
