I hope there will be more re-paints of the Douglas DC-5, like TWA,PAN AM, AMERICAN, DOUGLAS PROTOTYPE, maybe UAL..ect, this is a great plane to fly, it is differant in handleing then the DC-3, but I love the plane, I have two re-paints in VA colors so far, Kelonawa, and Blue Grass VA.

Cheers

Are you referring to J R Lucinary's DC-5? That is the only one that I know of. I have a repaint template done, a few new skins done, and more to do....whenever I get to them.

If you have any pics of schemes that you would really like to see done for the plane, you can e-mail them to me. Just click on my user name and hit the send e-mail thing and it will bring up my e-mail addy.

There are some good repaints out there.

This is what I have in my aircraft folder:

DC-5, KLM - I believe this is the original paint included with the model.

DC-5, New Holland Airways - by Wayne Tudor. My copy came from AvSim but you can probably find it elsewhere if you look around some.

R3D-1, VMJ-2, USMC - Wayne Tudor released one paint of this livery and it looks great, but there are some color and markings errors. I also painted this livery and got the colors and markings right, but my natural metal base color doesn't look nearly as good as Wayne's. My copy of his version came from AvSim, but it's probably also in other places. I believe my version was released here at SOH.

C-110, USAAF - this one was included with peperez's CFS2 conversion, so it's available in the library here.

All of these are real, authentic liveries.

Thanks for the HU - I didn't have the KNILM paint.

There's also a nice repaint at FlightSim of a DC-5 in the new, post-war KLM livery. I doubt that any of KLM's DC-5s lasted long enough to ever wear that livery, but it sure looks nice.

I forgot to mention that I also have one painted as the example captured and put into service by the Japanese. I think that might also be one that comes with the original plane.
