Hey, we teased you guys enough over the past 4 months from when we first started Beta testing BHaH. How about sharing some of your own BHaH experiences with us? Good and bad!

OVS, I think everyone is too busy playing it to post anything ;)

Can't wait for my DVD to arrive.

YES! Some detailed reports/reviews would be great. I'm almost ready to pull the trigger and buy the sim, but for 59 bucks, I want to make sure it is excellent.

Yes lets have some screen shots of P3 I can lust over while we are waiting.

Thorny, have a look at the "preview movies" on the main page. No reason to wait with the buy, except extreme money shortage (like in my case. But I'll sell my Roland TR 808 drumcomputer at Ebay now. That good old beauty is actually worth over 1.000 Euro, I just saw! So I can have P3, a GT 260 or 4870 graphic card plus motherboard and memory sticks, TrackIR 4, and a HOTAS Cougar flightstick! Geee - that'll do for the next 3 years of fun!!!)

Hang in there!

I will try and post some pics and impressions of the game tonight after work because I know how all of you feel while waiting.

I can tell you it was worth the wait and the price. :Banane44:

Sorry I did not have time to fly any missions last night, just a few QC so below is my account of my first flight in OFF3 BHaH.

For my first go at it I tried the QC just to get a feel for it. Setting up the pilot was great and picking your squadron is better than ever. I can tell that Winder spent some time getting this right. The menus are professional, polished and easy to use. The workshop will now tell you how realistic your selections are. When you select go to field it still takes a little time to load like P2 but I forgot that it goes straight to the field. No more selecting to fly from the CFS3 menu.:applause:
So I was surprised sitting there in the cockpit of my SE5a Viper and thinking "WOW". The game looks more vivid and the detail is great and that is just in the cockpit. Its quiet except for some birds singing then I hear an engine off to my left. I turn (trackir) and see my squad mates warming up their engines but NOT TAKING OFF WITHOUT ME! Oh, the Joy! Feeling silly just sitting there knowing they are waiting for me I start up my engine. Another WOW! New sounds! The Viper sounds great. I try the guns, WOW, another new and well done sound! I start rolling and look over and see my squad do the same. There are some Albatri (?) coming in but I am very busy looking around at the great new scenery. I turn my head back to the front and Wham, I crash into a tree.
Less than a minute in the air and I am dead. It made me think of George Vaughn who survived a crash in the SE5 but the playback tells me I was doing 101mph when I hit so no such luck for me. (The playback is very cool by the way!)

Everything I've seen so far is new or improved. Archie looks and sounds much better and you know its there now. Guns and engines sound great. The new planes are excellent and are going to take up a lot of my time:jump:. Troops on the ground you can now see and hear firing at you. The plane details are excellent and I can not fathom what kind of work went into making all those great skins. The menus are much more newbie friendly and have a ton of features.

I believe it was a wise decision to ship it as a disk and not as a download. The installation was quick and easy but the amount of info is huge.

If you are on the fence about buying P3 just know you are really missing out. It has a familiar layout like P2 but it is not the same game.

Admins should make two stickies - BhaH Allied Reports from the front, BhaH German Reports from the front... too many scattered posts now.. My $.02

Hi, CROZBONE
Geeeee - the Halberstadts look so great. And what did you say? Playback? We can play back the whole flight? That would be great!...

Hi Olham54

Hi, CROZBONE

Actually it is like a report that you can play through. If any action took place it tells you. If you played the old RB3d it is kind of like that.
There is also a tab to show you the aircraft and stats about them. Very neat stuff if you are unfamiliar with the aircraft.
The Halberstadt is a nice addition. It flies just like I thought it should. It has good maneuverability but not so great view forward. I made short work with some DH2s I fought. It’s much better than the EIII but a little more engine power would help.

Also the AI does not like getting shot at. It seems to really make them mad.:tgun2:

I will try to make some more screen shots tonight. Any requests?

Well, they're only human, aren't they (lol!)

Oh, if I may choose - Albatros (any version), and Halberstadt; against an interesting opponent? Thank you - I'll have a look in later!

Bullethead, I tried lol.

Well, that's all any of us can ever do. Have drink for your efforts :) :ernae:

BTW, I was admiring your pic of the Noop's belly crossing your nose and was thinking you shortly got a good shot at him. But then I noticed it said you were stalling in the upper right corner. I hope you didn't auger as a result :).

Bullethead

If you look closely at the "Noop" you can see some smoke shooting straight up from the engine. I did not get the screen shot in time for you to see the flames that had just shot out after a good burst. He never recovered from his roll but the Halberstadt recovers easy from a stall or spin.

Great pics again, CROZBONE! I know, I'll start a Halberstadt Campaign as soon as I can. And the sight isn't worse than in a Nupe, I'd say?

My best screenshot was at dusk. When you hit an enemy plane, you saw puffs of white smoke from the phosphor. Just put the "pause" on the space bar or somewere it's easy to reach. Then, whilst firing on a target, press it. Then change, in "pause mode", to the outside views and choose the best angles.
With the redish sky as background, and the tracer light lines and impacts, it will look dramatic - try it!
