Pober Pixie Question

falcon409

SOH-CM-2022
I discovered Simon Smieman's great model of this EAA inspired airplane and did a new livery for it. Great model (not native FSX), but the glass is a slight problem. it was originally a blue color but I didn't care for that so I changed it to gray. The problem is it's too hazy and difficult to see through on final approach. I added a solid black alpha thinking that would clear it, but I don't see any difference. Does anyone else have the airplane and were able to clear the glass enough to see?

Try The FSX Fix

Try the FSX fix that was created LAST not the earlier one for the Keitel Piper Arrow in my thread above. It is as good as it gets if it is the same problem. Here is the link to it:

It can't hurt to try. You will have to possibly match up Keitel's file names with the one's in the Pober that are the glass in THAT aircraft in model converter x highlighting them.

I looked at that download but the pixie doesn't have a separate glass texture, it uses a small swatch of color on the main fuselage/wing/tires/other stuff texture. I suspect that the real culprit is in the model file and how that was coded. . .which is unreachable since this airplane isn't a native FSX model.

Downloading now, I'll see what I can whip up on a native version

first look, looks like a no go... The windshield worked fine but the animations are done weirdly. Non standard tags. I will see what happens but for example the aileron animations appear to be reversed and if I try to get them to go the right way, the attached push pull tubes are messed up.

I'll keep trying.

Not My Place

I try not to complain about designers because my few tries to design aircraft in either FSDS OR Gmax were dismal failures even with Milton's help. Is Simon still around and reachable. If he has an email in the README try and see if he has a suggestion since Brian did not have any success.

I've sent an email to Simon using the only email addy I have for him. Hopefully I'll hear back from him. I just asked if there's any way to clear the glass. It would be nice to have a native FSX version but everything works fine as it is.

Got most of the animations working right but the prop jumps from still to blurred on start and back to still with no turning on shutdown... I'll see what I can figure out after work tomorrow

Got the prop animations sorted. I'll be uploading the native model here in the thread shortly as soon as I get it zipped up with the new windshield and goggle textures.

Here is the native Pixie. I used Milton's glass textures from the Howard 250 (Included)

New FSX exterior and interior models with mdl.cfg to go with.
