Port-over floats issue.

Contact points are not a strong point in my tool box so I wonder if some one could give me a pointer? The issue is that at the top of the sea swell the floats are good but at the bottom of the swell the floats are right under water. Any thoughts as to what points to alter would be gratefully received.

Float points are type "4" if I remember correctly, so anything with that type can be adjusted - I'd suggest vertically to start with.

It's been aeons since I last tried to adjust floats (giving someone a 747 on floats if I remember correctly, purely for amusement value) so unfortunately I can't be much help beyond that without investigating. If no-one else replies before tomorrow, I'll have a poke at them.

Points 0, 1, 2 and 3 (the first four) are the float contact points - shown by type 4.

If you open up one of the cfg files of the default aircraft (I'd recommend the Beaver, as it is a pure floatplane), the section immediately above the contact points should tell you what the various numbers mean.

To be honest guys i have a similar problem with my AS Albatros personally i think she doesn't sit low enough down in the water at rest as it were, any ideas there too?

I did a complete revised float section for the AS Albatross in the sticky thread, its in one of the first few pages, it adjusts the height, corrects the skipping in turns and generally makes it more stable on the water, I think they were going to official use some in a revised set up, havent heard any more to be honest, but feel free to grab my numbers and use them, helped some guys at Throttleback.

Make a back up of your cfg first though.
