Possibility for radar????

Rami and I have been chatting on IM, and I just came across an idea...

You all know that CFS-2 has its own little radar built into the game, and it is usually perched in the top-left corner of the window when enabled...

What if you find the source files for that little radar window, mess with them a little bit, and stuff the revised radar window in the cockpit of a nightfighter as part of the panel?? There's your radar screen right there! Admittedly, it would be kind of cheating, but it MAY be a start to something??? :jump:

But my question is, is it buried deep in the DLL files?? Because if it is... then it's not possible to get. If it's not, where would those files be?

And could it be "masked" by the panel, so you wouldn't have 360 degree "look down/shoot down" capability? More of just a forward looking scope?

did you know...

You can left click tactical display and drag into your 2D panel?
here it is superimposed over the Skippy's non-working radar.

I've been tryin' to figure out how to lose the DME function, ...Waypoint function, ...and add a range indicator.

ALL have .cfg entries, ...but don't seem to activate/deactivate w/ the X=1/0 solution.

This would render it a simple 1940's sea-search radar, ...or info from an air-intercept radar.

Waypoints/DME's bite.
Use a chart, gauges, and chronograph, ...or follow another lead A/C.

A glass half full...yeah...but the only girl in town

Ahead VC panel view of resized tactile display in oligive's wonderful P-61...best fighting panel for the 61.
Panning in VC of course will move the TD...but snap to front view will put it back in position.

That's sweet, guys! I'll have to try that.

Now, is there a way to actually imbed that screen into the cockpit panel?
