I say possible because I just purchased MSFS but not certain that my rig will run it even though it does meet the minimums. Anyway, my question is. . .how do I download it? I purchased it through the MSFS website, got the email saying the purchased had been processed but nothing else and I can find no way to download??

Ed, download it from MS Store. You have it on your Windows. You can install also Xbox App for PC from MS Store and download it from this place. You must be log in on Windows account.

probably best to look at the Microsoft Store icon at the bottom of your screen - should be in the taskbar

You also might need to check the xBox app - where even your MS games for PC are listed (in the left margin under 'installed games' and in the library thereto)

The Microsoft Store is where you download the purchased game and any updates that come out (Sim Updates or SU's and World Updates (scenery etc) or WU's)

It's convoluted and a source of many complaints initially - not really a big deal once you get the hang of it.

When you have established that you have installed the download from the MS Store - and that you have the sim in your xBox App library (should see your 'gamertag' there too - upper left)
You then have to open the sim and go to 'Content manager' to complete various installations from the sim software - MSFS comes to you in a 'bundle' that then has to be 'unpacked' - you will be ready to see
what you have purchased. Check the main forum there for how to set up your experience - photogrammetry on or off, how much 'data' you want to use per month, and all the various other settings. Lots of variable in there
You'll want to look at a lot of YouTube vids on tutorials for this.

Nice to see you coming to explore this side of the sim world ! :)
Sorry you bought it from the MS Store, though. I would have recommended you to get it from Steam instead :/ (less troublesome for the updates and such)

Thanks everyone for the assistance. However just getting past the app login is proving a real problem. My Microsoft account is tied to a non-existent email address. I have a secondary account as well but in order to setup a "PIN" it defaults to the old email and I've found no way to remove the old one so it will recognize the current email address. . .ugh!

Hi Ed,

Try asking at https://answers.microsoft.com.

EDIT: for the sceptics, this really is no joke!

We must to help Ed, maybe one day he will transfer some of his great sceneries to MSFS as well! :applause:
Ed, developer version is included in standard MSFS, easy to open it.

If the order was placed within the last 30 days he would be eligible for a full refund. You just have to sign into the link below with the account that you made the purchase with.

Not only are updates less troublesome, you don't need to deal with Microsoft's half-baked apps, encrypted base files or nonsensical file paths.

Not sure how to troubleshoot the email stuff within the Windows/Xbox apps, that stuff has been a mess since Windows 10 launched.

Thanks, I've requested a refund. As for the Microsoft Account problem I have. . .it seems insurmountable at present. Nothing I have found is clear cut in that areas I am asked to go to aren't labeled the same as the instructions indicate and those that are close don't show the options that I need to remove the old email address. Until I can successfully remove that old email address doing anything with MSFS is on hold because I just know that at some point that problem is going rear it's ugly head at a most inopportune time.

Update: The only way to get out of the loop with the old email was to do a fresh login with the correct email addy. That of course caused a clean restart with wall-to-wall Microsoft and nothing that I had with the other login. What it did though was allow me to purchase through steam. . .however during the install of 2020 it did note that my system did not meet the minimum requirements (see my specs in my signature). I have continued with the installation and just when I thought I was close I got hit with a 96gig Update, which it appears could take several days at the rate it's going (installed 2 of 411 thus far). So we shall see if it will run or not after all this update is finally installed.

Sorry, I lack the patience to continue. I tried to give the huge update a chance to show some progress but after about 8 hours of no progress whatsoever, I'm done. I allowed it one final chance this morning but it just sits there "decompressing" but it hasn't installed a single thing that I can see. So I'm asking for a refund.

Yes it´s seams that many have that problem with slow download , but it will take hours with an SSD ( 4-5 with a 200 mbps line ) and if have an HHD it will take much longer , look over your Internet settings and download at night , cable not WiFi ( it will be fine , don´t get a refund :)
