The black line was our approximate route on a grid map of southern Saskatchewan.
I dont know if the grid road system is widely used outside Saskatchewan - the planners just drew lines on the map and said, 'Those are roads' and it was so.
It was pretty isolated though. It took some planning if you wanted to run away! I cut a deal with a guy with a car when I was 15. I knew a girl he wanted to meet so I arranged an introduction on the condition he would get me out. I went back after a while and turned up back at school. It was less than gratifying to discover that no one had noticed I was gone!
Still though - a great place to from! (Just don't send me back....)
