As elsewhere, they've had a pretty chilly season in Antarctica.
These are pictures of waves
The water froze the instant the wave broke through the ice.
The temperature of the water is already some degrees below freezing.
Just look at how the wave froze in mid-air!
I don't mean to be a downer, but I don't think those were created by waves. Nothing freezes that fast. I once read an article dispelling the myth that they were frozen waves!

At least the geography was right, I think the pictures stand by themselves.
Pity Snopes lambastes your computer with malware, otherwise I'd be tempted to check this one out too...
