Excellent job on the repaint, and great choice of markings/paint scheme! I miss the (really) old days when there was an FM2 Wildcat painted in these markings, flying with the then "Confederate Air Force".

Hope to do a few more this weekend. I really like the 'colorful' look to the pre war Wildcats.

Looking at your pics John, maybe I need to lighten up the gray a little?
 
I think the gray is perfectly fine as is! You definitely cannot base accuracy from a warbird paint scheme from the 70's/80's era. :)
