Problem Saving Scenerio

Hello Flyers!

I had a problem with my P3d 3.3 install where when I was creating a scenario. I selected a aircraft, airport, time and weather, I then pushed the 'Save' button on the bottom of the window and it asked me was sure I wanted to exit P3d.

Figuring my install was messed up and taking it as an excuse to upgrade to 3.4, I completely uninstalled P3d, using the uninstall feature, not deleting anything manually except the remaining files in 'Program Files x86\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3d 3.x' and then I did the install of 3.4.

But after the install when I go to save a scenario, it asks me the same 'do you want to exit' question. Is there anything else I can check?

Thanks in advance.

Joe.

I have the same problem, can't find a fix for it. Searched all the usual FSX/P3D sites. No luck finding a fix.

I contacted the official LM P3d forum and asked the same question, the answer I got back was to delete these folders.

I did so and then it worked, but of course I did not have any of my add ons installed.

One of the nice things that they did in P3d was in your c:\programdata\lockheed martin\prepar3d v3 folder is they have a series of config which have the names effects.cfg, gauges.cfg, scenery.cfg, simobjects.cfg, sounds.cfg, etc... In these you can specify additional folders that p3d will use for the effect, gauges, simobjects, sounds, etc. FSX allows you do that with simobjects and scenery but P3d takes it to its logical conclusion and allows for all the folders.

That being said I had set up some additional folders where I had all my add on aircraft whose installers did not insist on being installed in the actual p3d folder, once I put those folders back into the cfg files the problem returned. I disabled the extra effects/gauges/scenery no change, then put those back and moved all of the extra aircraft out of the simobjects folder and it worked. So its either one of my add on aircraft that is breaking it or its the number of add on aircraft.

I have been slowly adding the aircraft in groups back into the simobjects folder and restarting p3d, so far I have added about half back and its still working but those were my older ones that I did not suspect. Will continue over the weekend and will let you know the result.

I finally tracked it down. I started dividing the aircraft in half and testing each group. Then for the group that worked I set aside and the group that failed I divided and tested again until I was finally down to just one aircraft, which was older aircraft by Jens B. Kristensen. And I though, what could be wrong with that? I then inspected the aircraft.cfg file and discovered the issue.

At some time in the past I had been editing the files and somehow, removed the title= line from one of the [fltsim.X] groups, once I added it back, then, with all my aircraft back in the folder it works fine.

I'm trying the removing aircraft first since that seems to be the consensus from what I read. I'll let you know if it works. It will take some time, since I have to move them out of the hangar one at a time to see what happens; and I have a lot of aircraft.

I agree doing them one at a time will take forever. What I did was to continually divide them in half until I got the one.
