After the PSA NGX repainting binge, I wondered what how the 377 would look in PSA's 1950s scheme found on their DC-4s. I am not a font expert so I have no idea what the original title font for the old PSA scheme is so I just used the their last 'style'.

yeah, once I get around to packaging it up, I'll put it up here and Avsim. The CP Air NGX scheme is on its way to Avsim now.
 
? in ref to CP Air? I noticed the callsign is Empress. Empress is Canadian North's Callsign currently, did CP get eaten by the Canadian Arctic midnight Polar Bear?
 
lol yeah I used Empress because I looked on the Edit Voice Pack callsign list for some kind of CP Air callsign, the description listed Empress as Canadian Pacific. Could CP Air have been Empress back in the day? Feel free to change it to somthing more appropriate.

Changing isn't needed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Pacific_Air_Lines somehow Canadian North got the call-sign after CP merge to Scare Canada lol. I always like to learn something from a new paint. Today I did and I thank you for painting a CP Air. Im taking her up to Yellowknife.

Well back in the day. The Empress callsign actually dates back to the 1890's:
"In 1891, CPR and the British government reached agreement on a contract for subsidized mail service between Britain and Hong Kong via Canada.[SUP]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Pacific_Steamships#cite_note-9[/SUP] The route began to be serviced by three specially designed Empress liners—the RMS Empress of China and the RMS Empress of India (with RMS Empress of Japan). Each of these "Empress" steamships sailed regularly in the period from 1891 through 1912."

The "Empress Fleet" also suffered one of the worst marine disasters in history (not long after the loss of the Titanic): In 1914 the Empress of Ireland sank after a collision with the Norwegian freighter Storstad in the St. Lawrence River. In just 14 minutes after the collision, 1,012 of the 1,477 passengers and crew aboard her drowned as the ship foundered.

Additional reading will describe the significant wartime efforts of the Empress fleet and staff.

When Canadian Pacific entered the airline business the tradition continued and post-war aircraft were named, (like the ships) "Empress of..." as well as the airline being assigned the radio callsign "Empress" by ICAO.

So Canadian North (which was once an operating division of Canadian Airlines Int'l) has the 'genealogy' to continue use of one of the oldest corporate identities in existence :salute:

Nice job.

I guess this would have been the propliner equivalent to PSA's "Mother Grinning Bird" L-1011's - too big and too expensive to run. :icon_lol: Looks great though.
