    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

PTO mission failed to load when starting up??

Hi all.... anyone have any suggestions to why my PTO install would suddenly show me the flickering screen and error msg "mission failed to load" when I start it up?? I have all the updates thru 1.54, and it was working fine untill today....I double clicked the shortcut on my desktop as usual, and it opens up with the mission failed to load error, flickering screen....changing the mission or to QC makes no difference, and I can't see any obvious missing files (that doesn't mean there aren't any)....my other CFS3 installs run fine...CFS3 w/Firepower, clean CFS3 install, DPC Korean Skies, and ETO all run squared away....just PTO that is messed up....any suggestions??

the same problem occured in my 'normal' cfs3 a few times and my solution was just to set up a quick combat. Then after I shot down some enemies I returned to the main menu and everything worked fine again...
probably some file is corrupted, maybe this will fix it.

normaly this maens that there is been an change to the game that not matches with the normal game tree so like if there is a background missing or musical theatre so if you changed something before of did an add on whithout placing all the files it can happens to, if you realy dont cant start the game up, then i have to say sadenly i have bad news! that means reinstalling the game completly. my strongly advice always before you change something on the game put an add on or something like that take a usb flashdisk about 4G and place the games you having for CFS3 there every tyme you want to add on something you copy paste whole the game again the system says then there is already a file there klick yes to all, every time you have updated or put an add on to your game then the copy paste jobs makes it sjure that if you srew up it at any moment you can go back to the way it was before ;-) just an advice if something happens it saves you a lot of work over and over

ive placed alsow all the add ons and updates zip files some where save on a flash disk so if something happens with my pc im not losing any game add ons or plains stand allone or other stuff

I am a steep learning cuve at the moment but if this happens to me I normally remove the mission files,and restart the whole instalation again,useing logic work /no work to get to and eliminate the problem,not easy but you get there in the end.
