• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Gentlemen, this has to be one of the most innovative tools I've had the pleasure of using.

FXEditor by that tireless developer; Arno Gerretsen. The editor is simplicity and plain logic itself. And it's freeware too.

Just point the editor once to your particular fs installation and, hey presto! load up any of your installed fx and SEE the effect in action in the editor's view screen. You can adjust any of the values and AUTOMATICALLY SEE the optical changes as they're made, including animation!

Couldn't be simpler. Go for it here! http://www.scenerydesign.org/development-releases/

Found this last night, by accident, when using ModelConverterX (which is another brilliant tool by Arno, the man is a genius). I haven't had much time to look at it yet (kinda busy with something), but as Nigel says, looks like is is simple, elegant & soon to be indispensable. Thank you Mr Gerretsen. :salute::icon29:

Well said; Thanks Arno!

Yep Andy, Its a cinch to get into; I was 'fiddling' within five minutes. :icon29:

I shall valiantly resist that feedline! :icon_lol:

Arno's tools are expanding the horizons of this hobby, at least as far as I am concerned; and he continues to tweak, making them even better. It is people like him, giving their time, effort & skills so unselfishly, that make this a really fun hobby. :applause:

:salute: Absolutely.

Talking tools, I can't for the life of me remember the name of the tool used for converting aircraft to scenery objects. Do me the honours Andy and give my old memory a jolt (been meaning to give it a whirl, just didn't have the time for distractions when it was mentioned).

Static Aircraft .mdl Maker (SAMM) is the one you are thinking of.
