PV-1 Vega Ventura Released for FS9 and FSX

Thank you so much, Milton & Ventura Team! Just downloaded this huge package. Now to install and fly the big girl.

Cheers,
Maarten

Now, I believe the whole family of Lockheed twins of this type are complete... Ventura, Lodestar, Harpoon... and... (drum roll), the Howard 500.

Thanks Milton, and your :greenbounce: "fun bunch" :greenbounce: (Team Members) for yet another artistic and engineering masterpiece!

Thank you very much for the Ventura - a fabulous freeware project! I wanted to point out a minor typo error in the aircraft.cfg file. I prefer to use the steerable tailwaheen option, but I found when I made the change to the aircraft, cfg, that my tailwheel was sunken into the ground. Closer inspection revealed that the line in the aircraft.cfg for the steerable tailwheel option had a minus symbol (-) in front of the tailwheel height value (0.5). Removing the minus symbol corrected the problem (fourth value in line below):

point.0 = 1, -33.093, 0, 0.5000, 1574.803, 0, 0.797, 040, 0.23, 3.0, 0.7, 5, 5, 0, 150, 180

Thanks again,
Graeme

Ah, thank you Sir; great catch. :)

For someone who once wished for, more than anything, more classic Grummans, Commanders and Lockheeds in FS, this has been one incredible production run!!

Thanks so much for all this enjoyment! :very_drunk::very_drunk:

Ah, you are welcome Sir. I am preparing a v1.1 update as we speak. Minor stuff mostly, but needs to be done.

PV-1 Vega Ventura Updated v1.1

Just uploaded the FSX/FS9 v1.1 updates to the original archives.

Updates are not major but affect the following:

All models, fuel gauges, textures, aircraft.cfg.

Some FSX textures upgraded to 2048 for the interior.

Model changes were primarily adding the deflector windows and hiding the drop tanks from the VC model when dropped.

Not quite! We could still use a Model 14 Super Electra/Hudson. (Hint, hint...)

uh.. well there is this little thing called a L10 Electra (another hint hint)

If we had those, a Model 12 Junior Electra would complete the set. (yet another hint, hint.)

I think a Super Electra/Hudson fits in best with the Ventura/Lodestar/Harpoon/Howard series because it was the first of the round-bodied twins and it was produced as both an airliner and a patrol bomber. But the little, slab-sided civilian Electra and Electra Jr. would also be very nice to have.

But it costs $24 bucks, and more importantly, it's for FSX.

I understand the FSX part.

As to cost, we invest 1200-1600 hours to get a project out over 8-16 months; not sure how to value that but I am certain its over $24. :)

Hey Mick - save your $$ and enjoy the great Lockheed Twins that the Milton & Co Skunk Works have produced for us for absolutely free! I am right now flying the L18 over the Grand Canyon, have Count Basie music playing in the background and sipping my favorite brew. Nothing could be finer . .

Now back to negotiating the Grand Canyon . .
