Question about floatplane "bobbing" in water

I've been playing around with the contact points on my Jet Ranger on floats. The dodosim model from Owen Hewitt's 'skids' model , and now have the floats realistically sitting IN the water rather than on top of it.

The heli looks great, but I wanted to see if I could minimize the amount of 'bob' the floats have. In order to make them look like they are actually supporting some weight at the high point, they are practically submerged at the low point .. Realistic for a good ocean swell.. but on rivers, in what would be calmer waters, a bit too much.

I can't seem to find a way to edit this parameter in the aircraft cfg. and am wondering if it's "HARD CODED" into flightsim itself (cfg. file)

Anyone have an idea?
thanks
Dave

two screenshots showing upper limit ..and lower limit of floats bobbing in the water.. to illustrate what I'm on about! :)

Bushi,

In the contact points for the floats, the Static compression number should be decreased, and max-static ratio around 2.5. Then set damping to 1.0.... like so ...

0.25, 2.50, 1.00

You can try lowing static compression further but it may make your landings harder.

Also, you may have to adjust vertical distance after adjusting static compression and max-static ratio, as usual.
