question about a FS9.cfg entry

what does those lines in FS9.cfg do?

[Multiplayer]
ALLOW_PLANE_MODEL_SEND=0
ALLOW_PLANE_MODEL_RECEIVE=0
ALLOW_TEXTURE_SEND=0
ALLOW_TEXTURE_RECEIVE=0

I believe they are used for multiplayer - to allow your model and animations to be sent to the other players, and theirs to be sent to you, so you will see what they are actually flying. So you can see a Mustang in the appropriate colors, rather than a baby blue C172 booming along at 350 kts. It would also appear from those lines that if you don't have their model or texture package (they are flying a payware package that you don't own), you could receive it, but I'm positive that that is not the case - it probably just sends the title and variation information with the position and other info used in multiplayer.

thanks for the info

if I guess right changing these values from 0 to 1 should enable this options
will try that in one of my next online flight

Those lines have been in MS flight sims for over 10 years going back to CFS 1 at least. I've had them set to 1 for years in FS9 and they haven't worked yet. Never got them to work in any earlier sim either. Some folks claim to have got them work, but those have been very few and far between.

Best way to see what the other guy is in is to have it.

I've tried using those lines over an FSHost session (with the other pilot's cfg set the same way) with no luck. However, they may work on a peer to peer session.

I'm an admin there. I also have full FTP access to everything except the forum files. It's probably a false positive. What file(s) are giving you the warnings?

I am not at my own PC at the moment but I will sent you the complete warning message tomorrow
