question about Gerrish Grey's Trees

SOH-CM-2023
I was going to install Gerrish Grey's Tree Libary V3 ,I have never installed any version of Gerrish Trees ,but I think maybe some scenery's might already use them. I saw you have to go through your texture and scenery folders and delete all kinds of files if they are present.
The only reason I was going to install Gerrrish Trees are for just two addon scenerys , Freeflow Bahama(which calls for them), and Freeflow Burmuda ,both of which has white blocks instead of trees in some areas.
Now if the white blocks are caused by not having the Gerrish Trees or just my lower end Vidio card I don't know.
Bottom line and question is, I'am not about to go through all these files hunting for the right names and deleteing them just for two addon scenery's. What would happen if I installed Gerrish trees with out deleting these files?
As I said I have never installed any version of Gerrish Trees's ,but the readme lead me to believe that some scenery's use some of these trees.
Anyway what happens if I don't delete anything and install the Tree Libary? I just got everything back after my install got corrupted and am not about to chance mucking it up for some white blocks that I can live with.
Also I'am not about to go through all the scenery's I already have installed hunting for bmp or texture files which have certin names. Thanks for any ideas on this, like I said I'am not doing anything that might mess up my install again. It would be nice not to have the white blocks but if I have to go through all this ,it's not worth it,and I don't know if it would even fix the white blocks or if it's a vid card thing. These scenerys are the only two that have these white blocks. Thanks

I Truly Dislike "Library Objects"

There was a need for them when disk space was at a premium, but these days a few MB really isn't an issue.
And you will ALWAYS get texture duplications, which slows the computer as it hunts up and down the priority list.
These days I put everything a scenery needs, in that scenery folder.
If you only have 2 sceneries using the trees, why not drop them into a common scenery/texture folder and pour the Gerrish textures in there?
Or keep the sceneries separate, and put Gerrish in both?
That way the textures are at the same folder priority as all addons, and the sim won't bother about duplication.

not quite sure I understand

Do you mean put the Gerrish Trees in the scenery and texture folders of the two scenerys ? Bahamas and Burmida?Or make two new additional folders ,scenery and texture and put them in the two scenery folders, for instance the Freeflow Bahama has a Bahamas folder with a scenery and texture folder and the class and mesh only has a scenery folder. Where would you put the trees?

and another thing

If I make two new scenery and texture folders and put the bgl. files in the new scenery folder and bmp files in the new texture folder and put these in where the scenery and texture folders are in the scenery file, wouldn't I have to name both files something like "scenery trees" and "texture trees"? It won't let you use files of the same name. Or am I totally misunderstanding you?

With very few exceptions FS is actually quite good at bulldogging until it finds a file somewhere in it's range of folders even if it is not in the first place it looked.
In case of the textures you can indeed simply place all of those into the texture folder for the Bermuda scenery and you are all set.
The reason why the readme instructs to delete or rather remove the original files from the main texture folder is so that you can go back if for some reason you don't like the new ones. Using the method above you end up with two variations of files with the same name in two different locations and FS will pick one or the other.

The reason for the white blocks is that some textures or trees do not have a default equivalent....and FS draws the physical object without the texture...same as an aircraft without textures.

slight improvment

I put the bgl file,(there was only one) in the Scenery folders of the Bermuda and Bahama scenerys and the bmp files in the texture folders of both. Now the white blocks are still there but on the ground when I pan away from them then pan back to where the blocks are their gone but pop back up. When I take off and look back the farther I get from them ,they start winking out ,like lights being shut off ,untill they are all gone.
Weird thing about all this is ,when I first installed these scenerys years ago ,I had the white blocks, then over time I replaced the graphic card ,updated the drivers and for one reason or another the blocks went away.
After this last mess when I had to reinstall FS9 ,useing the same drivers and graphics card, the blocks are back. I tried updateing the driver as far I could go since the card is no longer supported, but made no difference. Guess I'll live with the blocks, maybe when I replace this card(I don't want to replace it yet as everything else is fine, just these two scenery's)the blocks will go away, although if, as you said they are caused by FS9 not haveing a default repacement then that won't work.
Anyway thanks to everyone who tried to help.
