Question about REX Textures in FSGlobal Real Weather

I want to use the environmental textures from REX Essential Plus in FSGRW. I ran the REX program last evening, gave it the current P3D_V2 folder for the sim and clicked "Load". To be honest it didn't seem to take near as long as previous installation of REX textures, but I assumed it worked. I flew a quick flight to check and I didn't really see anything spectacular, but it was late and I was tired so maybe it was just a combination of things. This morning I checked the texture folder in P3D to see if any new textures had been loaded. The only obvious ones were from the current Orbx Library. Does REX load it's textures directly into the sim texture folder or are they called from the REX folder by the Sim when it loads initially?
 
Hi Ed, as far as my understanding goes FSGRW uses whatever the is fed into the sim as cloud textures. It does not affect them, it just uses them.

I also wondered about the short loading times when the cloud theme / textures in REX Texture Direct were changed. I did notice though that the depiction changes when you select other themes or vary the textures. So I guess it does all right :) Maybe we're just puzzled because the texture conversion and copy process in earlier REX version almost took forever.

But your question sparked my interest, I'll have a look at the texture folder of the sim tonight and look for cloud textures with a more up to date creation date/time stamp.
