Question about 'Warning Messages'

Hi Guys,

I have got rid of 'most' warning messages, and don't really need to know how many bullets the enemy craft has taken thank you Microsoft!

I would love to have a clutter free screen, but I still get 'Chase View' and 'Stall' etc

I know it's a chase view Mr Gates!!!...thanks for that!...doh!!

Any way of getting rid of them all?..or are they hard coded for dummies?
 
Good question. When I make videos (with "Fraps"), I find them rather disturbing too.
The only really helpfull one is "Stall warning", as we don't have the real pilots "belly-feel" for it to come.
But I don't know either. It can sure be done - Winder or Pol would be the men to ask, I think.

run the config tool (main OFF folder cfsconfig.exe or its available from the workshop screen in the manager), then go to file (top left corner of window) select custom settings, hit OK a new window comes up go to window (text top left corner) click and a list appears, select overides

this brings up a new window with a list of things to enable and disable. top right side there are the following

disable Chat
disable Advisor Messages
disbale Simulation warnings (this is stall etc )

tick them and you should have no messages at all.

Hello,
that is what i did already at the beginning of playing phase 2, much better immersion and screen shots as well without the text. As well i switch off labels and such altogether. Next was tweaking my off "mine" control settings, to not fumble around with the original MS Ctrl-alt-F6 for increasing (or was it decreasing?) mixture. I can only suggest for everyone to tweak OFF via the config.exe and mine settings for views etc. to everyone's own needs. Much more fun with changed controls, at least for me.

Olham, if you have the money (and you seem to have the flight sim-bug :jump:) try investing in a force-feedback joystick since it will start to shake and shake more as you approach a stall. VERY handy and realistic.

W.R.T. the config file, I was experimenting a bit and activated the water animation, which by default I believe is turn off. It isn't the best water animation I've seen in sims, but much better than a concrete pad.

Yes, a force feedback - actually have one somewere, but haven't used it a long time (hope it still works). How's shooting accuracy with them?
 
I've a FF stick but it ain't shakin'. Works on all the other CFS thangs....maybe I've not ticked an enable box somewhere???

still P2 here, but here you have to tick the small rectangle in the control options menu. As well certainly check the effects in the Windows system settings of the joystick. If they do not work here, or are set to off, they will not work in Off either.

Hi Guys,

also forgot, if you want to have the messages occassionally but not always, if you hit shift+D it will disable all messages etc, then to turn them back on hit Shift+D agian etc etc .

the config file is more a permanent solution.
