Question: Best Mustang for P3d

blanston12

SOH-CM-2025
I have used the A2A Mustangs in FSX but they don't work to well in P3d, I thought they were working at one point but now I can't even get the engine to start. So I wanted to ask the community which was their favorite P-51 in P3d?

Hi
I have used the Carter P-51 in what I believe was Prepar3D V3.3 or so and it worked without problems. I have not tried it in V3.4 yet but I would be optimistic at this point - I would however comment that a couple of scenery's which worked in 3.3 are now missing buildings in 3.4 so there are differences.
Hope this helps.
Warren

The A2A Mustang with Accusim works perfectly in P3D v3.
There were at some point a problem with the Accusim core update which was, in some cases, not updating the warbirds correctly, but I believe this issue got fixed in the meanwhile.
I'm using that Mustang with Accusim quite often, together with the P40, the Spitfire and the P-47, and I love them.

If you do not need the Accusim level of realism, then you can either:
- reinstall the A2A Mustang alone, without its Accusim expansion
- give a try to the Warbirsim Mustangs, which seem to have the best 3D model (and textures) of all times. It's ahead of the A2A one, graphically, especially because the various models are more accurate in the details. Each paint has its corresponding model, including the correct canopy shape, the correct mirrors, etc.... And I believe they are on sales somewhere, aren't they ?

Was looking at the WarbirdSim Mustangs last night, there are more than a few packages available. Ideally I would like one that has a least one good military version and at least one good civilian conversion. Would Mustang Tails be the one to get? Or would one of the others be better.

I just got the Mustang Tales pack last night, but haven't downloaded or installed yet. According to the description it contains models that were developed after WW2. It contains a number of military models from between WW2 and the Korean War, but also seems to include a Reno racer and modern civilian restorations. It also includes a carrier - the USS Shangri-La.
