Have to following question, is it possible to build a xml-gauge which automatic drops the drops tanks of an aircraft (via the default FS, drop droptanks command)?
It's for the A2A P-51D mustang which got drop-tanks by default.
The A2A P-51D and P-51H both have dropping tanks as stock items. Use either the VC switches or the ones on the pop-up panels to activate the drop command. If I remember correctly they are marked as 'Chemical Release' on the switches. You have to click them twice, once to 'arm' them and the second to drop them.

You should have a look at Warwick "Wozza" Carter's Mustang. Not only does it have working drops via VC switches, but but you can configure it as "clean" during your flight setup. Just zero the fuel in the externals, then switch over to the payload section. Zero the weight for the tanks and all you'll see on the model is the pylons. Zero the weight for those and your wings are clean.
