Question of the Day (12-22-09)

Cloud9Gal

~Fury of the Winds~

Would you give up half of what you now own, for a pill that would permanently change you, so that one hour of sleep each day would fully refresh you?

well, on the one hand, i own less right now than i ever have in my life.
that would make it a bargain.
on the other hand, i already have too much time on my hands.
add 7 more hours to the day and it might push me into the nuthouse.

No way, my stuff is way too precious to be traded in for that.

I don't have a lot...

But I cannot trade my dear child and a great job and precious friends and family....

I get rejuvenized every time I see and talk to them... :engel016:

Final answer, NO

Put me in the NO column. I don't think I would care for that, even if it was free.

Never led a material life C9G, I live by the grace of a good wife and faith that no matter how bad it is, it could always be worse in Detroit,

As for sleep, I am ready to retire now, past my bedtime, been to the hospital taking needs to my M-I-L, who has an operation scheduled at none in the morning. The wife and I have been on the run since about 6:30 this morning. I did manage to finish the repaint of the Fw-44, but as far as personal pleasure, that's about it. It gets busier from now on too, as we all know.

One of these days I may have a yes for you, but what little I have has been purchased over the years and are of intrinsic value to me. And I sure like sleep at night now. Was a night owl in my youth, but now it to bed at 10:00 and up with the roosters. I haven't been a party animal in over 25 years and to tell you the truth, I think I am still alive because I am not.

Here recently, I've been of the opinion that less sleep means more living. But... There's little enough to do at 3AM. Take away my PC and TV at the same time and I'd end up feeling a little like Burgess Meredith in "Time Enough At Last!"

I already run on about 4 hours of broken sleep a day...so 20 hours a day stuck in this house, doing house work, taking care of my wife and the animals, doing laundry, simming, surfing the net, staring at the fish as they stare back at me.....that is all I can handle. Not sure how I would fill another 3 hours each day. Beside, I don't have much...have it boiled down to just the finer things that my wife will allow me to keep stuffed into a small closet....I would kill anyone who tried to take my collection of 1950s dental floss and my Howard Johnson Hotel eraser in the shape of a hot dog..complete with little paper boat for it to sit in.

Not only no... HELL NO!!!

Those hours of sleep I wouldn't get are hours curled around my Lady. You could double what I now have and it still wouldn't take it... somethings are too valuable to give up.

Who needs a pill ... I survive on that now ... and I don't have to give up anything .... :banghead:

No, can't do that. The game of life is won by who has the most stuff at the end, isn't it?? :icon_lol:

Sure, as I don't own much I'd have more than enough time for a second job. Or more time to RACE !!!!

I haven't been a party animal in over 25 years and to tell you the truth, I think I am still alive because I am not.

Alcohol conserves, see Keith Richards or Lemmy Kilmister. ;)

Wasn't it more of a "Last Man Standing" kind of competition?
