Question on Warbirdsim P-51D Removable Drop Tanks (Packs 1 and 2)

I haven't gotten the new Little Friends pack yet but I have the other two packs and I like them alot. How, though, if you add the drop tanks, do you register the additional fuel in the aircraft for use? I don't see an alternate aircraft cfg with the drop tanks added. It also doesn't appear from the load screen that the center 85 gallon center tank is available either. I've reviewed the manual and couldn't find anything.I'm sure this has been covered before, so my apologies in advance if I've missed a thread or have a case of ****.Regards,LT1

With the restored variants, we realized that, even with the 4 examples flying today that have the 85-gallon fuselage tank in place, it is not used in today's flying environment on these aircraft. Of the 150-160+ P-51D's flying in the world today, with only 4 examples of those actually having the tank in-place, we actually covered 3 of these in the Part 1 alone, those being HJGB, Upupa Epops, and Lil' Margaret. For this reason, there is no 'active' fuselage tank fuel entry in the fuel/payload manager by default, but if you go into the aircraft.cfg file, you will find this under the fuel entry:

//Center1 = -6.5, 0.0, 2.620, 85, 0

Simply remove the // marks in front of the line. With the few that actually have the fuselage fuel tank installed, the pilot would not be a happy-camper to come out to the aircraft and find that some line-boy had filled it up. : )

The same holds true for the drop tanks. Although they can be seen mounted to some freshly restored Mustangs, while on display at an airshow, to help gain some 'extra points' for the level of restoration, and even though most all of the replica drop tanks are functional, you (almost) never find any Mustangs flying today, actually using them for extra fuel, or for anything else than display-reasons. However, in the aircraft.cfg file, there are separate entries for the 75-gallon and 108-gallon drop tanks. You can activate any pair of them, in order to allow you to 'carry fuel' in the tanks.

//External2 = 0, 7.51, -3.23, 75, 0

Once again, simply remove the // marks at the front of the pair of drop tank fuel lines that you want.

Within the 'Little Friends' product, depicting the active-military examples, each aircraft is already pre-setup with an active 85-gal fuselage tank, as well as drop tank entries, depending on whether you are carrying 75-gal, 108-gal, or 110-gal tanks.
