questions for scenery guru

Some of the lake water is painted on the hillside around Interlaken. I am trying to learn how scenery are painted. Attached is an image of Interlaken where every files in the CFS2\texture folder are removed except 900b2m15.bmp.

I know that bitmap file 900b2m15.bmp is used to paint 1 small section around the lake. If you remove that file from the CFS2\texture folder, a small section around the lake is not painted. That file appears to be just the alpha map file. Does anyone know where I can find the bitmap files that are used to paint the texture around Interlaken lake?

Is there a good program to learn how scenery are created?

Thanks!

Andrew,

This is how the area around Interlaken looks with Sander's ETO scenery, LOD land class, and mesh. What setup do you have?

Rami,

I think I have the same setup. I was trying to learn how scenery are created and removed all the texture files from the CFS2\texture folder except 900b2m15.bmp. That file seems to control how the texture is painted at one small section around lake. There are a a lot of files named 900b2m--.bmp that also paint the texture around the lake. This 900b2m15.bmp appears to be just an alpha map file.

I have also found out that the file 950150lwm_3.bgl in the EURW package controls how the lake is painted. But I can not figure out which texture file is used to paint the water. Is there a BGL editor that I can use to examine the BGL file?

This is what I am trying to fix around Interlaken, some of the water is painted on the hillside.

BTW, Achim had just finished building a nice Interlaken airport. I hope that he will upload it soon.

It really is a job for Ground2K. This tutorial by Sander de Coq explains most of the Scenery construction details.

PS Got you PM, will respond once I get back home.
